UTAH
Lots
of great scenery in Utah. The Moab is very fun riding, what I would
have given to have my mountain bike for a quick spin. The terrain turned
very sandy and rocky entering the state, with the famous "slick
rock" roads that consisted of great sheets of rock. It was difficult
to follow the trail in areas, not due to Sam's directions, but the trail
would turn into one big rock slate. I would have to watch very carefully
if I was going to keep on track. The weather was around 103 and clear
skies. My hands started ache due to the constant pounding and fighting
the handlebars. With all the rocks and sand, this became a way of life
for the rest of Utah and Nevada.
The
motorcycle has been running great and I lightened my load by making
a stop at the local post office and mailing home my unneeded rainsuit
and past state maps.
